My friend’s family from home rented a house about an hour from RIT. So, I went to stay with them this weekend. We went to Watkins Glen and I took lots of photos.

Necklace Still Life

So I started to think of objects to photograph for our new assignment. I was thinking of what is important to me and what I actually have here at school with me. So, most of my jewelry was given to me by other people and is very important. So, I used the lights in my room to create a fake studio to photograph some of my necklaces.

Man and Purple Guitar

My friend and I went to the city today so I could take some photos for our class assignment. While we were there this man came up to us and started telling us about this mural. He seemed really excited about the man playing the purple guitar. So, I asked if he would stand next to it and let me take a photo.

Amazing Camera!

So I have always just used my own camera and never taken one out of the cage. I was too shy last year and afraid I would ask for the wrong thing. So, today I decided to take out a lens and camera. I took out the Canon 5D Mark 2 and the 24 to 70 lens....they were amazing!!! I don’t know whey I didn’t do that earlier. I loved how easy it was to focus on exactly what I wanted to and have a very shallow depth of field. I will check out a camera every time I shoot from now on!

Thrifting with Lauren

Lauren and I went thrift store shopping on Friday. The racks and racks of clothing packed into this tiny store caught my attention. I like the way in which the colorful clothing creates a sort of endless repetition surrounding Lauren.

The Public Market

I went to the public market for the first time on saturday. Although it was very crowed I still managed to take a few photos. What caught my attention the most was the setups that people created to display their produce. I really liked the home grown, natural feel of the market.
Water Street

I went to see some local bands play at water street the other night. I have never really taken band photography so I had a fun time experimenting with it. It was really dark inside and difficult to take a clear photograph. So, I enjoyed using the lights to help create motion and more abstract photographs.
